Locate the various areas on the screen where messages, error codes, and useful information about the progress of a program is displayed to assist programmers in the development of their programs.
Demonstrate the use of or state the purpose of each of the following:

opening an new (empty) file,
opening an existing file,
saving a file,
saving a file with a different name,
running a program,
running a program with output redirected to a file,
running a program with input coming from a file,
halting execution of a running program,
paragraphing a program, and
printing a program.

Demonstrate the use of or state the purpose of each of the following:

adding a line to a program,
deleting a line from a program,
deleting part of a line in a program,
deleting several lines at once,
moving a section of a program to a different location in the program,
copying a section of a program multiple times at different locations,
finding occurences of specified text in a program, and
replacing occurences of specified test in a program.
